Recently, I was asked to talk about the best email marketing software available at the moment. I cringed when I read the request, because this is a bit of a touchy subject with a lot of people. Why, you might ask?
Well, email marketing includes mass “junk mail” transmissions in many cases. This is far from all that email marketing pertains to, but it’s a defining aspect that is a source of contention among people, for obvious reasons. Everyone hates random spam in their inbox, just as they hate junk mail in their mailbox. So, since a large group of people think email marketing is limited to this practice, and are showing interest in abusing that aspect, I was hesitant to encourage this at first.
But, there is that large chunk of people who know there’s much more to email marketing than that, who deserve a list!
So, I’m going to trust my honest readers to know that with the great power of email marketing comes great responsibility. That said, here are the best email marketing software solutions going on right now.
#1 – Aweber
AWeber is one of the most popular and widely-deployed email marketing tools around right now, used by small, medium, large and even Fortune 500 businesses equally.
It’s a remarkably simple design, but behind its simplicity is a powerhouse software suite offering opt-in email marketing, follow up auto-responders, subscription management, email deliverability tracking, HTML email templates, and emailing of blog articles.
This allows for solid, multichannel relationships between your company and customers, with a very simple interface and low learning curve to master. This is a good choice, but it’s just one of them.
#2 – MailChimp
If you’re looking for something a little more capable fo customization, MailChimp’s a good option too. It’s as popular as AWeber, though with a slightly different demographic, as it leans more on the side of being made into proprietary mailing systems to meet a company’s needs and sense of individuality.
It features list construction, custom forms, Facebook integration, a full-featured API, template designing, template galleries and image and file hosting to support the custom assets without any difficulty.
If you’re a do-it-yourself kind of company, but don’t have time to go completely from scratch, MailChimp is a good middle ground to solve that dilemma. Small business may find it a lot of work to set up, as overworked as they already are, though.
#3 – GetResponse
If you need something with a little more oomph, and a lot more centrism on BI and logistics/statistics, then this is probably the best choice. Designed around video email marketing, email to speech conversion and a simple form builder, this program offers online surveys, auto responders, split testing and social media integration.
R&D divisions, along with market testing and other such sections of larger companies find GetResponse invaluable, and small businesses who want to be in the know would also benefit from this system as well.
GetResponse is great for the social network integration alone, as I’ve talked about how big that’s going to continue to get with marketing among other things anyhow.
The best email marketing software of today may or may not be the best tomorrow. So, keep checking in for updates, I talk about SaaS all the time.
