Understanding SaaS companies is no easy task. For the common person, cloud-computing and software-as-a-service may be entirely foreign concepts. Ironically, though, each and every smartphone user interacts with SaaS applications on a daily basis. It may be difficult to understand SaaS conceptually, but it’s not so difficult to grasp the industry if you look at examples of SaaS applications. That’s why I thought it would be best to shed some light on the functions of SaaS companies by spotlighting a rather unique one: MeghaWare.
History
Meghaware was conceived back in May of 2009. The company was founded by software veterans Shawn Nagar and Leo Salazar, both of whom drew upon their vast experience in software development to fill a need they felt was present in the cloud-computing market: a relatively inexpensive, personalized cloud-computing product. Their solution manifested in the form of CloudTop, MeghaWare’s bread-and-butter application.
What It Does
CloudTop offers users an array of benefits, including but not limited to data storage, sharing and communication apps, pay-as-you-go cloud storage, and private “cloud-in-a-box” storage. The application can be downloaded directly from the www.MeghaWare.com website and installed on PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The application allows one to construct a personal cloud, filled with aggregated data and applications that can be accessed through a multitude of means.
What Makes CloudTop Special
CloudTop’s creation was predicated on the mission of solving three oft-cited cloud-computing concerns by professionals and businesses: hefty pricing for personal clouds, data-security concerns that come with free (or less expensive) cloud-computing apps, and the difficulty that often comes with accessing a personal cloud. CloudTop is affordable without compromising the security of its users, and offers cloud-based storage and cross-platform access. The idea of cloud-computing software is not a novel one. But the impressive balance CloudTop has struck between being affordable, secure, and accessible is what makes it so unique.
MeghaWare seems to have a firm understanding of what consumers need in the digital age. Not every company will evolve into the next Amazon. In other words, not every company can afford the most effective, secure cloud-computing software. CloudTop offers smaller companies an affordable, secure, and accessible product that will help them aggregate data and ultimately (hopefully) increase efficiency and revenue.
