The Best IT Management Software as a Service

I’ve gone over the best IT management software before, and while some software providers haven’t changed, others have. So today, I’m going to do my quarterly review of the best ones out there.

The thing with IT management software is that a lot of people have mistakenly come to think that the cloud revolution has rendered the need for IT management obsolete. That could not be further from the truth.

IT will never go away. IT people are still needed to manage VPNs, bandwidth use, application synchronicity, connection problems and interoperation profiles for both the cloud and local applications. IT people manage the machines needed to drive business.

As a result, IT people need management software that can cover their bases. They need to get the jobs done as efficiently as possible. Luckily, SaaS developers have heard these cries for help and have developed systems to answer them.

Today, I’m going to point out three of the top tier IT management SaaS solutions out there. Choosing the right provider is a big decision to make, Hopefully, the list below will help make this choice an easy one.

#1 – New Relic

I’ve cited New Relic in the past, and I’ll continue to do as long as it stands out as one of the most popular, widely used systems in this given niche. New Relic is considered one of the most powerful, feature rich solutions for IT management SaaS. (Note that it’s quite pricey, so it’s not meant for small businesses).

Among its many features are app availability, monitoring, alert notifications, real-time user breakdowns (by web page, browser or geography), unlimited user accounts, performance data API access, database call response, code level diagnostics and a slew of other features that make this a very comprehensive IT solution.

#2 – FlashPanel

Formerly Sherpatools, FlashPanel is similar to NewRelic. It is a comprehensive IT tool geared mainly towards medium sized businesses. Main features include discrete email audit monitoring, Google groups, shared contacts management, access control, app butler infrastructure and bulk user provisioning. FlashPanel is oriented towards non-locational online businesses. Flashpanel is great for networked, cloud workers who need their VPN properly monitored and controlled. FlashPanel may be a little overwhelming for small-sized businesses, but its cloud technology makes it ideal for medium sized businesses, as well as big business owners, who target large demographics.

#3 – Fastback DR

With Big Data on the rise, data management, backup and recovery is one of the most important issues for IT. This is where Fastback DR comes into play. Branding itself as “the holy grail of backup,” Fastback DR offers continuous and scheduled data protection, lightening-speed backup technology, file and volume restoration, and SQL and exchange backup – all from one, tidy source.

While I would say their slogan is a bit clich?, it actually fits. Fastback DR is one of the most comprehensive, yet easy to use, backup systems I’ve ever encountered (and believe me when I say I’ve seen and tried quite a few).

These are the best IT management software solutions available at the moment. As you can see, some providers have changed since the last time I reviewed this topic, others have stayed on top. I hope I’ve provided you with some useful information to choose the right IT Management solution for your company.
