Project collaboration software, and collaborative functionality is quickly becoming very popular. In fact, it has become a selling point in a lot of SaaS offerings for various other purposes as well.
Project collaboration software enables something that people have long wished possible – remote, location independent, real-time collaboration – over the internet.
This allows people to work from anywhere, over mobile, tablets, PCs and laptops, as well as set top boxes and game consoles. Bound to offices and business schedules is no way to live or work; thanks to project collaboration software, working life will be revolutionized. (Hopefully in a less stressful and dismal way).
Google Docs famously pioneered the collaborative concept, and it proved valuable right away. And, although Google’s offerings are all well and good, what other software offerings are on the market?
There are too many to list, but I can at least show you some of the better ones, and that’s what I’m here to do today!
#1 Project Bubble
While the name sounds like a reality show about champagne or independent soft drink makers (actually, someone make that please, I’d really enjoy it :), Project Bubble is actually one of the simpler but more reliable solutions out there.
Project Bubble offers time tracking, drag and drop interfacing, collaboration tools, easy file sharing and support across any platform and. It has a flexible, customizable API that lets you do some impressive ‘stuff’.
Project Bubble works for all business sizes, but I do hear it can be a little buggy on iPhones and iPads, so check in on company upgrades.
#2 Project Insight
Project Insight’s name isn’t as fun as Project Bubble, but that’s alright, because it does a pretty good job. Project Insight is a simple and reliable software offering with some pretty neat features. It’s easy to use and down to earth. Project insight offers intelligent scheduling, resource management, outlook integration and permissions security. It also has a very intuitive dashboard that puts all the features your fingertips – without any fluff.
Project Insight is a one-size-fits-all business solution I recommend giving it a trial run.
#3 Copper Project
Copper Project is a powerful and viable solution for collaboration. It offers a lot of features such as project planning, Gantt charting, task management, time tracking, invoicing and budgeting. It also offers easy permissions handling and email notifications.
Copper Project was created for large businesses, so smaller businesses may find it too expensive or too powerful for their needs. It’s something to grow into, not to start out with.
The 3 providers listed are just a few of the myriad of project collaboration software suites out there (and when I think the time is right, I’ll probably touch on this again). In the meantime, I recommend you check these out and do some research to see what else is out there!
